Temporary Colostomy
A temporary colostomy is one where the rectum, anus and sphincter muscles have not been removed. Asides from this there is no discernable difference between a permanent colostomy and a temporary colostomy.
The most common temporary colostomy procedure is the Hartmann's Procedure.
The management of the stoma remains the same regardless of it's permanency.
