Picolax
Picolax is a bowel pretreatment agent, professionally referred to as "osmotic laxatives". It's incredibly powerful as it helps draw water into the bowel, and this in turn makes stool soft and more voluminous. They become easier to pass as a result. It's most commonly used in situations where the bowels need to be emptied quickly, such as a pre-surgery treatment, or a way of cleaning the bowels out ready for X-rays or other tests on the bowel.
It's vitally important to drink lots of fluids whilst taking this treatment otherwise you may dehydrate. Also, the period of treatment should not go beyond the 24 hours barrier.
Instances when Picolax should not be used:
Intestinal obstructionAny patients where kidney function has been decreased
Any case with unexplained abdominal symptoms
