MRSA Information

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a particularly nasty infection that is resistant to normal anti-biotic treatment. The infection is believed to be carried in the human nose, and is most commonly found in hospitals these days, however comprehensive deep cleaning procedures in them has helped all but irradicate the infection from the wards. Any patient who tests positive for MRSA is isolated, and infection control procedure are taken into affect to prevent it spreading to other patients.
