=====Eakin Seals=====

An Eakin Seal is a wonderful product that has helped prevent many, many ostomates from experiencing leakage. They manufactured by a British company (eakin) and are available internationally thanks to distribution deals with ConvaTec and Pelican to name but two of the official distributers.

The seals are a sticky, stretchy hydrocolloid ring which is placed around the edge of the stoma before the pouch flange is affixed into place. The seal then helps prevent stool slip behind the gap that is normally between the stoma edge and the cut edge of the hole in the flange.
