DuoDERM
DuoDERM manufactured by ConvaTEC, and is a dressing commonly used in wound management. In other word, skin underneath it is healed quicker. It's made with hydrocolloid which is the same product most ostomy pouch adhesive flanges are made with. If an ostomate has very bad skin problems under their flange it can be advantageous to take a sheet of DuoDERM, cut a hole in the middle of it for the stoma to poke through, then stick it onto the skin before sticking the ostomy flange into place. That way, you are getting the ideal healing environment for your skin underneath the DuoDERM but still have the ostomy pouch stuck in place.
